Castor Oil Packs
Heal the old fashioned way.
Castor oil has been used for centuries for a variety of ailments. You probably heard a grandmother talking about it when you were young. It has many benefits including strengthening the immune system, aiding in detoxification, supporting circulation, reducing inflammation and pain, and thickening hair (hello eye lashes!).
You may also be aware of its use as a laxative or intestinal cleanse, but we are referring to its external use on this page.
For anyone experiencing difficult periods, I would recommend learning how to make a castor oil pack. Doing this little ritual every day for 1-2 months can be PROFOUND for anyone experiencing severe pain or stagnation in the uterus that's causing fibroids, endometriosis, or painful periods with clots. For less severe pain, try 3 times per week for 1 month.
*****Note: Do not use castor oil packs while bleeding (due to a period or IBS), while pregnant, or if you have any implanted device. Additionally, if you are actively trying to conceive, do not use a castor oil pack between ovulation and your bleed. The science on castor oil's use to induce labor is incomplete, but it is to be avoided during pregnancy because it can produce contractions early.
